2009 Egg Tempera Workshops

An introduction to egg tempera painting.  This two day class is designed for people with some painting experience who have always been curious about egg tempera.  Students will get a chance to experience hands on the method used during the Renaissance for creating paint from dry pigments, egg yolk, and water.  Various techniques will be demonstrated for applying the paint to build up sheer, luminous layers of color. Students will then have the opportunity to experiment with these techniques themselves and create their own paintings on small gesso panels that will be provided.  Class size is limited
